Position Title: Business Basic Programmer/Analyst
Location: Thornhill, Ontario
Compensation: Based on Experience
Position Start Date: December 2007
Maves International Software, founded in 1973, is a leading provider of software solutions to the Third Party Logistics Industry in North America. We are seeking a highly motivated person with knowledge of Business Basic programming language for our offices in the Richmond Hill area. The Programmer/Analyst is responsible for ensuring that Maves application product is produced according to functional and technical specifications while meeting or exceeding quality budgetary and time frame expectation. Essential Duties:
- Programming, designing, analyzing and supporting our existing system using Business Basic programming tools
- Conform to appropriate product development procedures while implementing technical specifications and developing product related flowcharts, narratives, report formats, and user documentation
- Conducts self-training and/or review of new and current applications, systems
- Address Client Support Tickets and Internal User Q/A tickets to correct and maintain existing systems
- Participate in conversion and upgrade projects
- On-call duty for after hours, weekends and statutory holidays, as required
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have knowledge and experience developing business software systems using Business Basic Language (ProvideX, BBx, Thoroughbred, Open Basic etc) in a production environment
- Diploma / Degree in Computer Sciences (or Equivalent Experience)
- Minimum 3 years programming experience
- Excellent oral & written communications skills
- Knowledge of Logistic Application or Web based programming languages a definite asset
- Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of computer programming, database and systems design
- Creative problem solving skills
- Ability to process information logically, design programs and systems logic
- Ability to analyze and interpret computer program data
- Ability to prepare program specifications and communicate technical information effectively, verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Maves resources
