Position Title: Web Application Programmer
Location: Thornhill, Ontario
Compensation: Based on Experience
Position Start Date: December 2007
Maves International Software, founded in 1973, is a leading provider of software solutions to the Third Party Logistics Industry in North America. We are seeking a highly motivated person with knowledge of Business Basic programming language for our offices in the Richmond Hill area. The Programmer/Analyst is responsible for ensuring that Maves application product is produced according to functional and technical specifications while meeting or exceeding quality budgetary and time frame expectation. What we are looking for:
- A passionate and reliable programmer who is an 'outside of the box' thinker with creativity
- Advanced knowledge of Web-Centric Application systems
- Advanced knowledge of emerging technologies
- MUST have previous experience building application with Adobe Flex, Action Scripts 3.0 & XML
- Strong understanding of Linux, Apache Server
- Ability to troubleshoot quickly
- A very productive work ethic
- Innovative and Passionate about programming and creating new applications
- Knowledge of database management, web builder software, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, Photoshop and object oriented design tools is an asset
- Experience in a logistics application is a strong asset
Main qualifications for this position:
- Knowledge of Adobe Flex and Action Scripts to assist in the re-development of a legacy system that is quickly converting to a pure web application
- Good understanding of XML, CSS for modifying templates to be used
- ActionScript, JavaScript and PHP programming skills would be required for creating some parts of the user interface system.
- Strong understanding of system-level security and good architecture principles
- Experience with MySQL 5.0 using InnoDB tables
- You will be working with other application programmers to convert existing systems to a web-centric system.
- You will be assisting in creating modules, templates and the user interface design.
