Although the company estimated payback on the system would be achieved within 18 months, it came sooner. Says Mr. Riley: "We've had a year-over-year 31 percent reduction in staff handling the same volume. Our accuracy was always good: It was 99 percent before and now it's 99.9 percent."
Other benefits include decreased picking and processing time, increased daily shipments, and real-time access to inventory levels, stock locations, and customer orders.
