Versacold's Geneva Lakes Cold Storage Now Live With Maves' e-Z Ware
The newest member of Versacold's network of 25 modern distribution centers is Geneva Lakes Cold Storage, joining the Versacold family on October 31, 2003. Their state of the art 631,000 square foot facility in Darien, Wisconsin has 14 million cubic feet of racked freezer space, and 2 million cubic feet of racked cooler and dry space.
Seeking real-time, online Internet capabilities for clients and complex mixed pallet and billing functionality, Versacold's Geneva Lakes Cold Storage turned to Maves International Software's robust e-Z Ware solution.
Maves' e-Z Ware solution is a full suite of feature rich operational applications anchored by industry-leading warehouse management, transportation and financials systems. These dynamic systems are supported by a series of flexible modules that include NetView internet access, system reports, radio frequency and EDI. These applications synergize to efficiently manage the storage, handling, distribution and transportation of material in the Supply Chain.
For Dan Leeder, Manager of Information Technology for Versacold's Geneva Lakes Cold Storage, the decision to upgrade to e-Z Ware was easy. "The mixed pallet capabilities, internet module and enhanced reporting capabilities give us a competitive advantage with our customers. Internally, we have gained efficiencies with the RF programs and billing functionality. Furthermore, the ease at which e-Z Ware interfaces with third party products has enabled us to get rid of our pre-printed forms."
With 95% of their clients utilizing Radio Frequency, e-Z Ware's new RF module was critical to eliminating manual data entry, reducing human error and giving Geneva Lakes Cold Storage real-time access to inventory levels and stock location. NetView enables their clients to create outbound orders online 24/7 and generate their own reports.
Implementation of Maves' e-Z Ware was "flawless" thanks to Maves' commitment to project management and thorough training of Geneva Lakes Cold Storage employees on the new radio frequency functionality within the software. Results were delivered on time and precisely according to specifications, resulting in this ultimate success. "With our busy season approaching we had a tight timeline for implementing e-Z Ware", recalls Dan. "All of the required capabilities were completed ahead of schedule and functioning as expected. The organization and detail level of the Maves project team made the conversion weekend go extremely smooth. Five clients and 60 million lbs of inventory were converted flawlessly."
